Christmas Lights on Candy Cane Lane

Candy Cane LaneThanksgiving has come and gone. Our pants fit a little tighter and we are ready for the glitz and glamour of the Christmas season. Get into the spirit and walk off a few pieces of Thanksgiving pie at the Candy Cane Lane Christmas lights display.

Just down the road in Woodland Hills, enjoy this spectacular lights display with friends or family. Home owners in the Lubao & Oxnard Streets area dress up their houses each year for the community to enjoy and have been trying to show up one another’s light display since 1952. It is a holiday tradition that brings all ages together to celebrate the holiday season. This eight block area of a California winter wonderland is not one to be missed.

You can drive down the streets with your lights dimmed to enjoy the light show or put on your winter coat and take a walk along the streets. If you choose to walk, be sure to wear white or bright colored clothing so cars can see you. Residents ask that you come by no later than 10pm on week nights and 11pm on weekend. Many will turn off lights after this time. The light tour begins the second Saturday of December and lasts through the end of the year.

Bring a thermos of hot cocoa to sip on or stop by Starbucks on your way over. You may even see Santa walking around taking pictures with visitors or the elves roaming around.
